Decklist (All Cards/Image Heavy)

This deck is Yugi's "timewarp"/jamjar/unlimited deck, basically the deck he would have if he had access to every card in the TCG. Some of the cards will be absent from his deck depending on the era -- for instance if he's not in a place with Synchros, he won't have Tuners -- but that's really the only changes the deck would go through. As such, rather than working on/pasting four or more decks that are almost entirely identical, I just made the one deck -- just assume the cards he actually uses fit with the era he's in.

In addition, everything below the smaller divider in each section is Yugi's "rotation" options. Yugi is someone who's known to change his deck a lot to adapt to situations rather than simply straight upgrading it, so him keeping a secondary side-deck he can use to modify it whenever needed makes perfect sense. Anything above the divider are cards Yugi keeps permanently in, no matter the deck.

Despite using Japanese names in some cases, some of the art is from the censored version -- in some cases, this is because that's all I could find, while in others (such as Black Magic Curtain and Black Magic Ritual), the censored art just looked more detailed and less boring than the original. In addition, all of the recolored Black Magician art (to remove the weird alien blueskinned version) comes from over here.

Black Magician

[Spellcaster / Normal]

The ultimate wizard in terms of attack and defense.

Black Magician Girl

[Spellcaster / Effect]

ATK: 2000 | DEF: 1700

Gains 300 ATK for every "Black Magician" or "Magician of Black Chaos" in the Graveyard.

Guardian Priest Mahad

[Spellcaster / Effect]

ATK: 2500 | DEF: 2100

When you draw this card: You can reveal this card; Special Summon it from your hand. If this card battles a DARK monster, its ATK is doubled during the Damage Step only. If this card is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can Special Summon 1 "Black Magician" from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard.

Silent Magician

Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned (from your hand) by Tributing 1 Spellcaster-Type monster, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. You can only use this effect of "Guardian Priest Mana" once per turn. Level 7 or higher Spellcaster monsters you control cannot be destroyed by card effects. If this card is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can Special Summon 1 "Black Magician Girl" from your hand, Deck, or GY.

Apprentice Illusion Magician

Chocolate Magician Girl

Magician of Dark Illusion

This card's name becomes "Black Magician" while on the field. You can only use each of these effects of "Magician of Dark Illusion" once per turn.

● If you activate a Spell/Trap Card or effect while this card is face-up on your field (except during the Damage Step): You can target 1 "Black Magician" in your GY; Special Summon it. This effect can only be used once while this card is face-up on the field.

Magician's Robe

If this card is destroyed by battle, or if this card in its owner's control is destroyed by an opponent's card effect: You can target 1 LIGHT "LV" monster in your Graveyard; add it to your hand.

During your opponent's Main Phase (Quick Effect): You can send this card from your hand to the GY, then target 1 Effect Monster your opponent controls; negate the effects of that face-up monster your opponent controls, until the end of this turn.

Field-Commander Rahz

ATK: 1600 | DEF: 1200

When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: Choose 1 Level 4 or lower Warrior-Type monster from your Deck, except "Field-Commander Rahz", and place it on top of your Deck.

Freed the Brave Wanderer

[Warrior / Effect]

ATK: 1700 | DEF: 1200

Once per turn: You can banish 2 LIGHT monsters from your Graveyard to target 1 face-up monster on the field with higher ATK than this face-up card; destroy that target.

SPELLS

Black Magic Expanded

Apply these effects in sequence, based on the number of "Black Magician" and/or "Black Magician Girl" on the field and in the GYs.
● 1+: 1 DARK Spellcaster monster on the field gains 1000 ATK until the end of this turn.
● 2+: This turn, your opponent cannot activate cards and effects in response to your Spell/Trap Card or effect activation, also Spells/Traps you control cannot be destroyed by your opponent's card effects.
● 3+: DARK Spellcaster monsters you currently control are unaffected by your opponent's card effects, until the end of this turn.

Black Magical Circle

When this card is activated: Look at the top 3 cards of your Deck, then you can reveal 1 "Black Magician" or 1 Spell/Trap that specifically lists the card "Black Magician" in its text, among them, and add it to your hand, also place the remaining cards on top of your Deck in any order. If "Black Magician" is Normal or Special Summoned to your field (except during the Damage Step): You can target 1 card your opponent controls; banish it. You can only use each effect of "Black Magical Circle" once per turn.

Black Magic Curtain

Pay half your LP; Special Summon 1 "Black Magician" from your Deck. You cannot Summon other monsters the turn you activate this card (but you can Set).

Silent Burning

During the Battle Phase, if you control a "Silent Magician" monster, and have more cards in your hand than your opponent: Each player draws until they have 6 cards in their hand. This card's activation and effect cannot be negated. You can banish this card from your Graveyard; add 1 "Silent Magician" monster from your Deck to your hand.

Silent Sword Slash

Target 1 "Silent Swordsman" monster you control; that monster you control gains 1500 ATK and DEF, and if it does, until the end of this turn, it is unaffected by your opponent's card effects. This card's activation and effect cannot be negated. You can banish this card from your Graveyard; add 1 "Silent Swordsman" monster from your Deck to your hand.


Black Magic Ritual

This card is used to Ritual Summon "Magician of Black Chaos". You must also Tribute monsters from your hand or field whose total Levels equal 8 or more.

Bond Between Teacher and Student

If you control "Black Magician": Special Summon 1 "Black Magician Girl" from your hand, Deck, or GY, then you can Set 1 "Black Magic Attack", "Black Burning Attack", "Black Burning Magic", or "Black Magic Twin Burst" directly from your Deck. You can only activate 1 "Bond Between Teacher and Student" per turn.

Black Magic Attack

If you control "Black Magician": Destroy all Spells and Traps your opponent controls.

Black Burning Attack

If you control a "Black Magician Girl" monster: Destroy all face-up monsters your opponent controls.

Black Burning Magic

If you control monsters whose original names are "Black Magician" and "Black Magician Girl": Destroy all cards your opponent controls.

Black Magic Twin Burst

Target 1 "Black Magician" you control; it gains ATK equal to the combined ATK of all "Black Magician Girl" currently on the field and in the GYs, until the end of this turn. You can only activate 1 "Black Magic Twin Burst" turn.

Black Magic Inheritance

Banish 2 Spells from your GY; add 1 Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand, that specifically lists the card "Black Magician" or "Black Magician Girl" in its text, except "Black Magic Inheritance". You can only activate 1 "Black Magic Inheritance" per turn.

Spell of Destruction - Death Ultima

If you control a Level 8 or higher Spellcaster-Type monster: Banish 1 card on the field face-down. If this card in its owner's Spell & Trap Zone is destroyed by an opponent's card effect: You can Special Summon 1 "Magician of Black Chaos" or "Black Magician of Chaos" from your Deck, ignoring its Summoning conditions.

Black Magic Veil

Pay 1000 LP; Special Summon 1 DARK Spellcaster-Type monster from your hand or Graveyard.

Gold Sarcophagus

Banish 1 card from your Deck, face-up. During your second Standby Phase after this card's activation, add that card to your hand.

Illusion Magic

Tribute 1 Spellcaster monster; add up to 2 copies of "Black Magician" from your Deck and/or GY to your hand. You can only activate 1 "Illusion Magic" per turn.

Incantation Book of Black Magic

Equip only to "Black Magician" or "Black Magician Girl". It gains 700 ATK. If this card is sent from the field to the GY: Gain 1000 LP.

Magic Gate of Miracles

If you control 2 or more Spellcaster monsters: Change 1 Attack Position monster your opponent controls to Defense Position, then take control of it, and if you do, it cannot be destroyed by battle.

Magicalized Fusion

Fusion Summon 1 Spellcaster Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, by banishing Fusion Materials listed on it from your field or GY. You can only activate 1 "Magicalized Fusion" per turn.

Sage's Jewel

If you control a face-up "Black Magician Girl": Special Summon 1 "Black Magician" from your hand or Deck.

Black Magic's Secret Ceremony

Activate 1 of the following effects.
● Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand or field, including "Black Magician" or "Black Magician Girl", as Fusion Material.
● Ritual Summon 1 Ritual Monster from your hand, by Tributing monsters from your hand or field, including "Black Magician" or "Black Magician Girl", whose total Levels equal or exceed the Level of the Ritual Monster.

Servant of the Soul

Place 1 card on top of the Deck from your hand, Deck, or GY, that is "Black Magician" or specifically lists "Black Magician" or "Black Magician Girl" in its text, except "Servant of the Soul". During your Main Phase: You can banish this card from your GY; draw cards equal to the number of "Guardian" monsters, "Black Magician", and/or "Black Magician Girl", with different names, on the field and in the GYs. You can only use this effect of "Servant of the Soul" once per turn.

Summoner's Art

Add 1 Level 5 or higher Normal Monster from your Deck to your hand.

Thousand Knives

If you control "Black Magician": Target 1 monster your opponent controls; destroy that target.

Yami

All Fiend and Spellcaster monsters on the field gain 200 ATK/DEF, also all Fairy monsters on the field lose 200 ATK/DEF.

Level Up!

Send 1 face-up "LV" monster you control to the Graveyard; Special Summon 1 monster from your hand or Deck that is listed in the sent monster's text, ignoring its Summoning conditions.

Reinforcement

Add 1 Level 4 or lower Warrior monster from your Deck to your hand.

Monster Reborn

Target 1 monster in either GY; Special Summon it.

Magical City Endymion

Each time a Spell Card is activated, place 1 Spell Counter on this card when that Spell resolves. If a card with a Spell Counter(s) is destroyed, place its Spell Counters on this card. Once per turn, if you would activate a card effect by removing a Spell Counter(s) from a card you control, you can remove that many Spell Counters from this card instead. If this card would be destroyed, you can remove 1 Spell Counter from this card instead.

Cyclone

Target 1 Spell/Trap on the field; destroy that target.

TRAPS

Black Illusion

Until the end of this turn, all DARK Spellcaster-Type monsters with 2000 or more ATK you currently control cannot be destroyed by battle, their effects are negated, also they are unaffected by your opponent's card effects.

Call of the Haunted

Activate this card by targeting 1 monster in your GY; Special Summon that target in Attack Position. When this card leaves the field, destroy that monster. When that monster is destroyed, destroy this card.

Black Renewal

When your opponent Normal or Special Summons a monster(s): Target 1 of those monsters and 1 Spellcaster monster you control; send both monsters to the GY, then you can Special Summon 1 DARK Spellcaster monster from your Deck or GY.

DNA Transplant Surgery

Activate by declaring 1 monster Attribute. All face-up monsters become that Attribute.

Eternal Soul

Every "Dark Magician" in your Monster Zone is unaffected by your opponent's card effects. If this face-up card leaves the field: Destroy all monsters you control. You can only use the following effect of "Eternal Soul" once per turn. You can activate 1 of these effects;
● Special Summon 1 "Dark Magician" from your hand or GY.
● Add 1 "Dark Magic Attack" or "Thousand Knives" from your Deck to your hand.

Magic Cylinder

When an opponent's monster declares an attack: Target the attacking monster; negate the attack, and if you do, inflict damage to your opponent equal to its ATK.

Magicians' Protection

While you control a Spellcaster-Type monster, any damage you take is halved. (You cannot halve the same damage twice this way.) If this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard: You can target 1 Spellcaster-Type monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it.

Magician Navigation

Special Summon 1 "Dark Magician" from your hand, then Special Summon 1 Level 7 or lower DARK Spellcaster monster from your Deck. If you control "Dark Magician", except the turn this card was sent to the GY: You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 face-up Spell/Trap your opponent controls; negate its effects until the end of this turn.

Holy Barrier - Mirror Force -

When an opponent's monster declares an attack: Destroy all your opponent's Attack Position monsters.

Dark Temple's Bribe

When an opponent's Spell/Trap Card is activated: Your opponent draws 1 card, also negate the Spell/Trap activation, and if you do, destroy it.

Great Horn of Ascension

During your opponent's Main Phase, when they would Special Summon a monster(s): Negate the Summon, and if you do, destroy that monster, then your opponent draws 1 card, then end the Main Phase.

Trap Stun

Negate all other Trap Card effects on the field this turn.

EXTRA DECK

Super Magical Knight - Black Cavalry

[Spellcaster / Fusion / Effect]

ATK: 2800 | DEF: 2300

“Dark Magician” + 1 Warrior monster
Gains 100 ATK for each Spell/Trap on the field and in the GYs. If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage. When a card or effect is activated that targets a card on the field (Quick Effect): You can discard 1 card; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it.

Super Magical Swordsman - Black Paladin

[Spellcaster / Fusion / Effect]

ATK: 2900 | DEF: 2400

"Dark Magician" + "Buster Blader"
Must be Fusion Summoned. When a Spell Card is activated (Quick Effect): You can discard 1 card; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it. This card must be face-up on the field to activate and to resolve this effect. Gains 500 ATK for each Dragon monster on the field and in the GY.

Ebon Void Magician

[Spellcaster / Xyz / Effect]

ATK: 2300 | DEF: 2800

2 Level 7 Spellcaster-Type monsters
While this card has Xyz Material, you can activate a Quick-Play Spell Card or a Trap Card from your hand during your opponent's turn by detaching 1 Xyz Material from this card at activation. If this Xyz Summoned card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, or if this Xyz Summoned card you control is sent to your Graveyard by an opponent's card effect: You can Special Summon 1 DARK Spellcaster-Type monster from your hand or Deck, then you can destroy 1 card on the field.

Ebon Illusion Magician

You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a Rank 6 Spellcaster-Type Xyz Monster you control as the Xyz Material. (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Special Summon 1 Spellcaster-Type Normal Monster from your hand or Deck. When a Spellcaster-Type Normal Monster declares an attack: You can target 1 card your opponent controls; banish it. You can only use this effect of "Ebon Illusion Magician" once per turn.
