Malkavian
Derided as Lunatics by other vampires, the Blood of the Malkavians lets them perceive and foretell truths hidden from others. Like the “wise madmen” of poetry their fractured perspective stems from seeing too much of the world at once, from understanding too deeply, and feeling emotions that are just too strong to bear.
Bane
"Insanity" is the name of the game when it comes to Malkavians, and as such, Yugi is easily mistaken for other clans at first. After all, he seems completely sane, if very timid and with an occasional fit that seems to be some kind of vision. Like a broken mirror casts an improper reflection, however, this is an illusion. Yugi's derangement manifests in the form of a fully second, insane and violent personality only called "Dark" who appears rarely, usually in times of extreme distress or fear. Dark's presence is what allows Yugi to remain mostly the same yet still see visions - Dark funnels the visions to his "other self" while filtering out unnecessary details and taking the insanity into himself.
